Terms of Service
Last updated October 4, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Stovebird (“Stovebird”, “we”, “us”), a cooking app operated by its owner, an individual sole proprietor based in Tennessee, USA. By creating an account or using Stovebird, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Stovebird.
1. What Stovebird is
Stovebird suggests meals from what’s in your kitchen, writes step-by-step recipes for them, and walks you through cooking with timers. Recipes are written by an artificial-intelligence model (Claude, made by Anthropic) and then checked by Stovebird’s own rules against your pantry, the foods you avoid and your equipment. Recipe pictures are made by an image model and are illustrations, not photographs of your dish.
Stovebird is new and in an early, invitation-based release. Features, limits and availability may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.
2. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older and live in the United States.
- One person per account. You’re responsible for what happens in your account and for keeping the devices that hold your passkeys, and your Google account if you use it, secure.
- During the beta, new accounts are limited: when the day’s or the beta’s places are taken, sign-up waits or offers a waitlist instead. Invites, when we send them, are personal and work once.
3. AI-written recipes: please read
- AI can be wrong. A recipe can contain mistakes in ingredients, amounts, times, temperatures or steps, even after Stovebird’s checks. Read it through and use your own judgment before you cook.
- Allergies and diets. Stovebird tries to keep the foods you tell it to avoid out of your recipes, but it can’t guarantee that a recipe or a product is free of any allergen. Always check ingredient labels, and don’t rely on Stovebird where a mistake could make you or someone else seriously ill.
- Food safety. Cook meat, poultry, fish and eggs to safe internal temperatures, and follow safe food-handling practices, whatever a recipe says.
- Not medical or nutrition advice. Stovebird doesn’t provide medical, dietary or nutritional advice. Nutrition figures are rough estimates. If you have a medical condition or a prescribed diet, follow your clinician’s advice.
- If something in a recipe looks unsafe, don’t cook it, and tell us with “Report a problem with this recipe” on the recipe page.
You’re responsible for what you choose to cook and eat.
4. Your content
Your pantry, household settings, notes, feedback and photos stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy and process them only as needed to run Stovebird for you, including sending the parts a request needs to our service providers (see the Privacy Policy). Only upload photos you have the right to use. As between you and us, you may use the recipes Stovebird writes for you for your own cooking and sharing; they may resemble recipes written for others.
5. Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- use Stovebird to break the law or to harm anyone;
- try to get around its limits, plans or security, reach other people’s data, or interfere with the service;
- access it with bots, scrapers or other automated tools, or resell or redistribute it;
- share your account or invites for payment, or create accounts to get more free recipes.
We may limit, suspend or close accounts that do these things.
6. Plans, Pro and payments
Free
A free account includes a small number of starter recipes and reworks, and keeps your pantry, saved recipes and timers working. We may change the free limits.
Pro subscription
- Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown before you buy. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- Free trial. First-time subscribers may get a free trial (7 days unless the offer says otherwise). A payment card is required to start it. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you’re charged the price shown.
- Cancel any time in Stovebird: Account → Manage or cancel. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Refunds are covered in the Refund Policy.
- We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription, and remind you before a yearly plan renews. You can cancel before the change takes effect.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; Stovebird never sees your full card number. Prices may not include sales tax where it applies. When Stripe sells Pro as merchant of record, Stripe is the seller of your purchase and its customer terms also apply to the payment.
- Pro’s recipe allowances are monthly and don’t roll over. On very heavy use, Deep recipes may rest until the next month, and some Pro recipes may be made on a different setting.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Account → Delete my account. That cancels an active subscription and deletes your Stovebird data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or end the service; if we end Stovebird, we’ll give you notice and a chance to download your data, and refund any prepaid time you can no longer use.
8. Disclaimers
Stovebird is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don’t promise that Stovebird or its recipes will be accurate, safe, uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about Stovebird is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
10. Indemnity
You’ll cover claims, losses and reasonable costs that third parties bring against us because you broke these terms or misused Stovebird, to the extent the law allows.
11. Disputes
Tennessee law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it. Claims must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court where it qualifies.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Stovebird after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
13. Everything else
These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Health Data Notice and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between us about Stovebird. If a part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part right away, we haven’t waived it. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them to a business that takes over Stovebird.
